It is imperative that government leaders, policymakers and the public recognize the charitable community benefits that hospitals in the metropolitan Chicago region provide. Hospitals have and will continue to provide billions of dollars in charitable benefits because of their vested interest in the health of their communities. Such benefits are integral to protecting access to care throughout the metropolitan region, which relies heavily on the billions of dollars of benefits hospitals contribute every year.
